KARACHI: Weather experts have forecast rainfall across most parts of Sindh by August 2 as a weather system develops over the Bay of Bengal.

According to experts, the system has intensified into a deep depression and could weaken into a low-pressure area and reach near Sindh on July 30.

They said that several areas of Sindh, including Hyderabad, could receive heavy rainfall during the period.

The intensity and impact of showers would depend on the movement of the system, according to meteorologists.

Experts said that Karachi could receive significant rainfall if the system moves towards the Arabian Sea and remains there.

However, the port city may only witness light showers if it travels towards the northern parts of the country.

Meteorologists also warned that another weather system could affect the country around August 6 or 8, saying the upcoming system was expected to be stronger and could also impact Sindh.

Karachi received rainfall for two consecutive days on July 24 and 25 as monsoon showers continued to lash parts of the country.

Rain lashed Shahrah-e-Faisal and its surrounding areas, while Sohrab Goth also received intense rainfall on July 24.

Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase 6, North Nazimabad and Gulshan-e-Maymar, along with adjoining localities, witnessed rain during the spell, while light drizzle was reported on II Chundrigar Road and nearby areas.

On July 25, light to moderate rain was reported in parts of the port city, including Gulshan-e-Maymar and Gadap.
