    • Says system won’t work until people’s sovereignty is recognise.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said on Friday that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was mistaken in believing it would form the government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Addressing a public rally in Bagh district of AJK, the PPP leader claimed: “In fact, their [PML-N’s] government in Islamabad is also at risk.”

Bilawal reiterated that the countdown for the PML-N government has started, adding that “it was started by their own people.”

He said: “A certain section of the PML-N wants Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to fight with his allies.”

“The real fight is something else,” he added.

Referring to alleged rifts within the Sharif family, the PPP leader said: “The real fight is between Islamabad and Lahore. This is the family’s own problem.”

The PPP leader made the remarks in response to Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah’s claim that the PML-N had secured a simple majority to form the government in AJK.

It is pertinent to mention that the PML-N has emerged as the dominant party in AJK following the first two phases of the region’s elections. The PML-N has won 24 seats, while the PPP has secured 10.

In the third and last phase of the elections, polling will be held in Poonch Division’s Bagh and Haveli districts on August 10.

Adding the public rally, the PPP leader said that they would hunt the lion — the electoral symbol of the PML-N — on August 10 in Poonch.

“They are thinking that their government will be formed in Kashmir.  There are still 11 seats left,” Bilawal added.

He vowed to form a government in Kashmir.

Reacting to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s remarks on the system’s collapse, the PPP leader said: “The system has not failed; it has been made to fail.”

“The system will not work until the people’s sovereignty is recognised,” Bilawal added.
