Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson are taking on a story full of secrets, fear and confusion in the new movie Verity.
The film follows Lowen Ashleigh, played by Johnson, a writer who gets a chance to work on the books of famous author Verity Crawford, played by Hathaway.
Verity is unable to continue writing, so Lowen is brought in to finish her work.
Things soon become strange when Lowen starts looking around Verity’s house as she finds a hidden manuscript that contains shocking stories about Verity, her family and her husband Jeremy, which is played by Josh Hartnett.
Lowenl, however, is left with a frightening question. Is the manuscript just a story Verity wrote, or is it telling the truth about what happened to her family?
As Lowen keeps reading, she becomes more worried about what she has found. She also starts to question the people around her and whether she can trust them.
Hathaway plays the mysterious Verity, while Johnson takes on the role of a woman trying to understand what is really going on.
Josh Hartnett also stars as Jeremy.
The movie is directed by Michael Showalter, with Colleen Hoover also involved in the project.
Verity is set to hit cinemas on October 2, 2026, bringing Hoover’s disturbing story to the big screen.
