    Baby Shark star to make K-pop debut as ‘Baby Shark Boy’

    Park Geon Roung, the little boy who became famous around the world through the viral “Baby Shark” video is now ready for a new stage, at 17, he is set to make his official K-pop debut as Baby Shark Boy on Aug. 20 with his first digital single, “WAVE,” featuring MONSTA X’s Joohoney.

    Geon Roung first became known as a child model after appearing in Pinkfong’s popular “Baby Shark Dance” video in 2016. The catchy children’s song quickly became a worldwide sensation, turning its young stars into familiar faces for millions of viewers.

    Now, almost a decade later, Geon Roung is returning to the spotlight with a completely different image, a 16 second trailer for his upcoming debut was released, giving fans their first glimpse of the teenager’s new musical journey. The short preview has already attracted attention from people who remember him from the viral childhood hit.

    The upcoming track will also include a familiar part of Geon Roung’s past, the iconic “Baby Shark” hook will appear in the new song, creating a link between the childhood video that made him famous and his new career as a recording artist.

    He is also credited as a co-writer of the Korean language track, making the release more personal as he takes his first step into the music industry. His transformation has caught the attention of fans online, with many reacting to how much he has changed since his “Baby Shark” days.

    One commenter wrote, “Wow he’s soo handsome, I think he is going to be my favorite solo artist”, while another fan shared that “not so baby anymore”, other reactions suugesting his cheering by “Woooha”.
