CEOs from Nvidia, Apple, Boeing, Exxon, Qualcomm, Citigroup and others reportedly invited.
The Trump administration is preparing to include leading global business executives on President Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to China next week as expectations grow over possible trade and investment discussions between Washington and Beijing.
Chief executives from major companies, including Nvidia, Apple, Exxon Mobil, Boeing, Qualcomm, Blackstone, Citigroup, and Visa, have reportedly been invited to join the delegation. The move highlights the strong corporate dimension of the high-level diplomatic visit.
A source familiar with the matter confirmed that Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser has received an invitation, while Qualcomm has acknowledged being invited but declined further comment. Some other companies also refrained from commenting on the matter.
The White House has not issued any official statement regarding the reported list of participants, and several companies, including Apple, Nvidia, Exxon Mobil, and Visa, have also remained silent on the invitation.
The development comes as anticipation builds over potential economic agreements during Trump’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said participation would be “a privilege and an honor,” noting that final details of the trip remain subject to official confirmation.
Separately industry sources suggest Boeing is seeking progress on a major aircraft deal with China which could include an order of around 500 Boeing 737 MAX jets along with additional widebody aircraft. If finalized, it would mark Boeing’s first major order from China since 2017.
Analysts view the possible deal as a key signal of improving commercial engagement between the world’s two largest economies amid ongoing trade negotiations.
