Police said the victims, including four residents of Punjab and two from KP.

QUETTA: The bodies of six laborers from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) who were abducted by armed men earlier this week were recovered from a remote area of Nasirabad in Balochistan’s Kech district, police said on Thursday.

Police said the victims, including four residents of Punjab and two from KP, were kidnapped from the Kalatak area on July 28. Their bodies were shifted to Quetta before being transported to their hometowns for burial.

Security officials blamed militants affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan for the killings. According to security sources, the same group had killed another laborer, identified as Javed, on July 27 before abducting the six workers. All of the victims were employed on development projects in Balochistan, the sources added.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the killings, describing the attack as an act of “extreme brutality” against innocent laborers.

He said the murders not only claimed innocent lives but also targeted Balochistan’s development and the livelihoods of its people. Naqvi expressed condolences to the victims’ families and vowed that those responsible would not be shown any leniency.
