The Sports Board Punjab has announced plans to provide hockey equipment and kits to schools registered with the Pakistan Hockey Federation’s (PHF) National Hockey Portal across the province.
The initiative aims to promote hockey at the school level and give students better opportunities to develop their skills.
Director of Administration of the Punjab Sports Department Abid Shaukat chaired a meeting at the National Hockey Stadium to review preparations for the distribution of the equipment.
DG Monitoring of the School Education Department Abdul Qayyum and other senior officials attended the meeting, while divisional sports officers from across Punjab joined via video link.
Shaukat said the equipment and kits would be distributed in phases across all divisions of Punjab. The Rawalpindi Division is scheduled to receive its equipment on Aug. 21 as part of the first phase of the distribution drive.
A Sports Board Punjab spokesperson said the department is coordinating with the School Education Department to ensure the equipment reaches all registered schools.
