A total car sales reached 17,216 units in July, compared with 7,135 units sold during the same month last year.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s car sales surged 141.28% in July 2026, signaling a strong recovery in the country’s automobile industry at the start of the new fiscal year.

According to the latest data released by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), total car sales reached 17,216 units in July, compared with 7,135 units sold during the same month last year.

The data also showed significant activity in the electric vehicle segment during the month, reflecting growing consumer interest in modern and fuel-efficient technologies and changing preferences in the local automobile market.

Pakistan’s auto sector had faced significant challenges in recent years due to high vehicle prices and the increased cost of bank financing. However, the sharp rise in July sales suggests that demand is recovering rapidly.

Industry experts and dealers are expected to closely monitor the trend in the coming months. Sustained growth in vehicle sales could provide a positive boost to the broader automobile industry and signal further recovery in the sector.
