Buckingham Palace will remain open to visitors until September 27, 2026.

Buckingham Palace has announced that it will remain open to visitors this summer, following the closure of Balmoral Castle as King Charles plans to spend time there with the royal family.

The Royal Collection Trust shared a post with Buckingham Palace featuring handwritten letters and drawings sent to King Charles by children from around the world.

The display highlights letters in which children discuss topics such as the environment and sustainability, while others ask the King about his duties as monarch and head of the Commonwealth.

Buckingham Palace will remain open to visitors until September 27, 2026.

The announcement came a day after Balmoral Castle was closed to the public. The castle’s official Instagram account announced Sunday that the castle, including its grounds, gardens and exhibitions, had closed for the 2026 summer season.

The statement thanked visitors who had visited Balmoral and said it hoped they had enjoyed their time there and left with lasting memories.

The castle also asked visitors to follow its social media channels for updates, including the return of the “Balmoral Castle Exclusively Highlands Artisan Market” on Nov. 6-8.
