Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held an important meeting with Bahraini Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa in Manama, in which they agreed to further expand strategic, economic and security cooperation.

Upon arrival at Qasr Al-Qudsabiyah, the Prime Minister was presented with a guard of honor and received a warm welcome, while the Prime Minister congratulated Bahrain on obtaining a non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council for a two-year term (2026–2027) and said that Pakistan is committed to further strengthening mutual cooperation.

Economic cooperation remained the main focus of the meeting. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the trade volume between Pakistan and Bahrain is currently over $550 million, which has been targeted to be increased to $1 billion in the next three years.

He also proposed increasing port-to-port linkages between Karachi, Gwadar and Khalifa Bin Salman Port.
