Ali Nour al-Din, a television presenter for Lebanon’s Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Manar TV, was killed in an Israeli strike on the southern Lebanese city of Tyre on Monday, Hezbollah reported.

Al-Manar said al-Din, who had previously hosted religious programs on the channel, was among those killed. Hezbollah described him as the main preacher in Al-Hawsh, a suburb of Tyre, and called his death a “treacherous assassination,” warning of the risk that Israel’s ongoing escalation in Lebanon could target media workers.

Lebanese Information Minister Paul Morcos condemned the attack, stating that such strikes “spare neither journalists nor media crews.” He expressed solidarity with the media community and urged the international community to take immediate action to protect journalists in Lebanon.

Since 2023, at least six Lebanese journalists have been killed in Israeli attacks, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists, though some monitors report the toll could be as high as 10.
