    Three-day physical remand approved for Pinky in Karachi drug case

    A Karachi court on Wednesday granted a three-day physical remand of alleged drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky in a case registered by Karachi South Police.

    The development came a day after the court had rejected an earlier request for her physical remand and sent her to jail on judicial remand. Police later filed a fresh application seeking custody of the suspect for further investigation.

    According to the investigating officer physical remand was required to trace the alleged source of cocaine supply investigate her financial transactions and conduct a Criminal Record Office (CRO) verification.

    During the hearing police informed the court that records of multiple previous cases against Anmol alias Pinky had also been collected. DIG South stated that a renewed plea had been submitted in light of additional evidence and ongoing investigations.

    Police officials said the suspect was arrested from Karachi’s Garden area and had allegedly been absconding in at least 10 criminal cases. Authorities further claimed that she was involved in operating a drug distribution network across the city.

    Law enforcement officials stated that cocaine, narcotics, and weapons worth nearly Rs1.5 million were recovered from her possession during the arrest.

    Separately investigators reportedly recovered multiple audio recordings from the suspect’s mobile phone. In one alleged voice note she is heard cautioning her contacts about a possible arrest and indicating that her operations would continue through another associate if anything happened to her.

    According to investigators the message suggested that another individual would remain in contact with her network using the same phone number.

    In a related development SSP South was removed from the inquiry following directions issued through an official notification. DIG West Irfan Baloch has now been assigned to investigate all matters linked to the case, including issues that surfaced during the suspect’s court appearance.

    The inquiry will also examine alleged violations of official protocol. Authorities have directed DIG West to submit a detailed report within three days.

    Officials stated that strict disciplinary action would be taken against any officers or personnel found responsible for negligence or misconduct during the course of the investigation.
