Karachi: According to the Meteorological Department, Karachi will experience cool and pleasant weather today, with warm and humid conditions during the day.

The minimum temperature recorded this morning was 13°C, while the current temperature stands at 16°C. Humidity levels are at 87%. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 28°C today.

The Meteorological Department has forecast rainfall in the city. A weak western disturbance is set to enter the country on January 16, bringing the possibility of thunderstorms and rainfall in Karachi on January 22 and 23.

    Nationwide Weather Outlook:

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a nationwide weather outlook, warning of snowfall and rain in the northern regions, while much of the country’s plains are expected to remain under the grip of cold, dry conditions accompanied by dense fog over the next 24 hours.

Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir are likely to experience spells of rain and snowfall. In Kashmir, extremely cold temperatures will prevail, with overcast skies, gusty winds, and the possibility of rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, mountainous districts including Chitral, Malam Jabba, Swat, Dir, and Kalam are expected to witness snowfall and rain.

Partly cloudy conditions with intermittent rain and snowfall are also anticipated in Batagram, Abbottabad, Kohistan, Malakand, and Mansehra, along with adjoining areas.
Murree and the Galiyat are forecast to remain bitterly cold, with cloudy skies dominating the region.

Cold and dry weather is set to persist across most parts of the country. The majority of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts will continue to experience chilly and dry conditions.

Islamabad and its surrounding areas are expected to remain cold, with partially cloudy skies.

In Balochistan, cold and dry conditions will prevail across most districts, while the northern belt of the province is likely to face severe cold under partly cloudy skies.

Dense to moderate fog is expected to blanket the plains of Punjab, upper Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during night and early morning hours, potentially disrupting visibility.

Persistent fog is likely in Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Bannu, Karak, Lakki Marwat, and Dera Ismail Khan.

In Sindh, foggy conditions are forecast for Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Dadu, while early morning fog is also expected in Larkana, Tandojam, Mohenjo-daro, and coastal districts, including Karachi.

Similarly, several areas of Balochistan including Dera Bugti, Kohlu, Dera Murad Jamali, Jafarabad, Nasirabad, Jhal Magsi, Sibi, and the Makran coastal belt may experience foggy conditions.
