KARACHI: The Sindh police have blacklisted 40,000 vehicles under the Safe City project and will begin enforcement actions starting July 1, officials announced Monday.
According to police officials, the blacklisted vehicles include those that were sold but not yet transferred to the names of new owners. Vehicles with incomplete ownership records or unpaid government dues have also been placed on the list.
Authorities said the blacklist has been finalized. Affected vehicles may be impounded, and owners could face fines.
The Sindh police advised citizens to check their vehicle details immediately through the official police portal. Owners whose vehicles appear on the list are urged to complete ownership transfers before the July 1 deadline.

Officials said the move aims to improve record accuracy, ensure compliance with registration laws, and strengthen enforcement under the Safe City initiative.
Over 3.5 million motor vehicles (including cars, motorcycles, and commercial vehicles) ply Karachi’s roads, with roughly 100,000 new cars registered annually.
The city dominates the automotive sector, with an overwhelming majority of Sindh’s registered cars, often over 189,000 in official legislative segments alone, concentrated in Karachi.
