During the meeting, the two officials held detailed discussions on crime prevention, with a particular focus on tackling street crime.

KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar held a meeting with Inspector General of Police(IGP) Sindh Javed Alam Odho to review the overall law and order and security situation in the province.

During the meeting, the two officials held detailed discussions on crime prevention, with a particular focus on tackling street crime and organized criminal networks. Strategies to further strengthen policing and improve public safety were also reviewed.

According to the spokesperson of the Sindh Home Minister, special attention was given to the katcha areas, where the Sindh government’s comprehensive strategy to restore peace, eliminate dacoits, and ensure the writ of the state was discussed in detail.

The Sindh home minister reiterated that criminal elements will not be allowed to raise their heads under any circumstances, emphasizing that law enforcement agencies will continue operations with full authority and backing of the provincial government.

He said the zero-tolerance policy has proven to be an effective tool against crime and has become a source of fear for dacoits and other criminal elements. “The protection of the public, safeguarding life and property, and the maintenance of peace remain the top priorities of the Sindh government,” Lanjar stated.

Expressing resolve, the home minister said operations would continue across the province without discrimination until crime is eliminated.

IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho assured the home minister of full cooperation, stating that police would strictly follow government policy. He added that, in line with the chief minister’s vision, eradicating crime from Karachi and across Sindh remains the police’s top priority.
