Security forces conclude Operation ‘Raddul Fitna-1’ in Balochistan; 216 terrorists killed

Pakistan’s security forces have successfully concluded Operation Raddul Fitna-1 in Balochistan, killing at least 216 terrorists during a series of coordinated intelligence-based and clearance operations, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

According to the military’s media wing, the operation targeted India-sponsored terrorist elements attempting to undermine peace and development by attacking civilians, including women and children.

The ISPR stated that 36 civilians lost their lives during the operations, while 22 personnel from security forces and law enforcement agencies were martyred.

The counterterrorism campaign followed a wave of attacks carried out by India-backed Fitna al-Hindustan, identified as Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) militants, across several districts of Balochistan. On January 31, terrorists targeted civilians in Quetta, Mastung, Nushki, Dalbandin, Kharan, Panjgur, Tump, Gwadar, and Pasni.

These attacks drew widespread condemnation from the United States, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkiye, Iran, the UAE, France, Canada, the European Union, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the United Nations Security Council, and other international bodies.

Providing further details, the ISPR said the initial phase of the operation began on January 29, 2026, in Panjgur and the outskirts of Harnai district after credible intelligence confirmed the presence of terrorists posing an immediate threat to civilians. During this phase, 41 militants linked to Indian proxy networks were eliminated.

The ISPR added that subsequent attempts by Fitna al-Hindustan to destabilise the province were effectively repelled by security forces. This was followed by an expanded series of intelligence-based operations across multiple areas aimed at dismantling sleeper cells through sustained combing and sanitisation efforts.

The military said the operation significantly weakened terrorist leadership, disrupted command-and-control structures, and reduced the operational capacity of militant networks.

Paying tribute to the fallen personnel, the ISPR said their bravery, professionalism, and dedication exemplified the highest traditions of service, adding that the nation stands united with the families of all martyrs.

The statement reaffirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism in all its forms under the framework of the National Action Plan (NAP), and that counterterrorism operations will continue with full resolve until all threats are neutralised.
