Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority has issued a weather alert forecasting rain from April 12 to 17 in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan.

The forecast includes intermittent rainfall along with thunderstorms, dust storms, and strong winds, while some areas may also see hailstorms, which could cause disruptions and local damage.

The NDMA said that rain is expected in Islamabad and several cities in Punjab, including Murree, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Gujrat, Sialkot, Lahore, Mianwali, and Mandi Bahauddin.

In contrast, Sindh and Balochistan are likely to remain hot and dry, with temperatures expected to rise slightly during the day.

The authority also said snowfall is expected in the upper and mountainous areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the coming week.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, districts such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, and Haripur are likely to receive rain with thunderstorms, while Swabi, Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, Kohat, Karak, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan may also experience rain and strong winds.
