    PSX surges over 5,300 points in weekly rally

    The KSE-100 Index closed the week at 181,430 points.

    KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed strong bullish momentum during the outgoing business week, supported by easing tensions in the Middle East, declining inflation and the start of the corporate earnings season.

    Investors earned a profit of Rs482 billion during the week as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained 5,336 points, posting a weekly increase of 3.03%.

    The KSE-100 Index closed the week at 181,430 points, while the index recorded a weekly high of 182,007 points and a low of 177,043 points.

    The market’s average daily trading volume declined by 9.9% on a weekly basis to 749.3 million shares. However, the average daily traded value increased by 7% to $121.9 million.

    The market capitalisation increased by Rs482 billion during the week, reaching Rs20.238 trillion.

    Earlier, Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bullish trend during the outgoing business week, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining 5,073 points.

    According to the weekly market report, the KSE-100 Index closed the week at 176,094 points after reaching a weekly high of 179,123 points and a low of 174,612 points.

    The average daily trading volume increased by 19.4% week-on-week to 831.3 million shares, while the average daily traded value rose by 14.2% to $114 million.

    The market’s total capitalization also increased by Rs477 billion during the week, reaching Rs19.756 trillion, reflecting improved investor activity and market confidence.
