I want it to work out.” That was all it took for another cycle of royal news to break out its magnifying glass for another scandalous Sussex claim.

Well — scandalous, perhaps, by royal standards. In a new interview with GQ Magazine, Prince Harry slighted his family — who no longer considers him a working member of its circle — by suggesting that while he still wants reconciliation, some of the other family members might not.Actually, to be fair, there was no softness to the suggestion which could veer into the direction of a “might”.

Harry openly claimed that these unnamed family members simply do not want to reconcile, period. And yet, his spokesperson swiftly offered an explanation: The Sussex camp’s representative said that the remark was “absolutely not intended as a swipe at his brother or any other member of his family.”A withdrawal of claims is routine for the Duke of Sussex.

But that does not mean that the strategy is not nearing exhaustion.Eleen Bukhari, The News International’s expert on the British Royal Family, offered a fresh perspective.

Eleen opined that this particular explanation was different in terms of its necessity; Prince Harry wouldn’t want to be on the wrong side of either Prince William or his father, King Charles, at the moment “especially when reconciliation is on the cards.”However, she also noted that the Sussexes “thrive on drama” and often “keep the conversation going.” So the “blunder” was “definitely intentional”.

While the remarks about the “others” might not have meant for the members of the family at all.

Harry might have “meant the courtiers, advisors, and the Buckingham PR team.”Prince Harry is no stranger to a PR disaster.

But all things considered, including expert opinion, this one may have been handled better than some of the others.
