ISLAMABAD: Pakistan received $3.631 billion in overseas workers remittances in July 2026, the State Bank of Pakistan said on Monday, August 10, as millions of Pakistanis living abroad continued to support the country’s economy through increased financial inflows.

The latest figures showed that remittances grew by 4.5% compared with June 2026 and increased 13% compared with July last year. The rise highlights the continued role of overseas Pakistanis in strengthening Pakistan’s foreign exchange position and supporting economic activity.

According to the central bank data, overseas workers sent a total of $41.6 billion to Pakistan during the 2025-26 fiscal year, which runs from July to June. This was a 9% increase compared with $38.3 billion received during the previous fiscal year.

Financial analysts expect remittance inflows to remain strong in the coming year. Topline Securities projected that Pakistan could receive around $40.1 billion in remittances during fiscal year 2026-27.

Remittances are considered an important source of support for Pakistan’s economy. They help improve the country’s external account, increase household incomes and contribute to economic stability. The government continues to encourage overseas Pakistanis to use official banking channels for sending money to Pakistan.

Remittances from the United Arab Emirates reached $737 million in July, showing an 11% yearly increase from $665 million in the same month last year. However, UAE inflows declined 7% compared with $792 million received in June.
