Olivia Rodrigo took over social media as videos of her secret concert in New York City went viral, including one where she performed an unreleased song.
The 23-year-old pop superstar performed a demo version of her song, purple, from her recently released album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, during the show which blew fans minds.
Rodrigo entranced the crowd, and the fans on social media as she unveiled the unreleased, happier version of the song which she later changed the lyrics to capture the melancholic element of love.
Excited fans flocked to the comments and exclaimed, “WHEN DID SHE RELEASE THIS,” and “her team airdropped this version to fans at tonight’s show.”
A third chimed in, “it used to say fighting about who would fold the laundry…i might cry.
Another noted, “THEORY! I think this is one of the moment where the ‘original scrapped album’ songs are starting to show some melancholic aspects but not plainfully sad onto our faces. Starting with purple and so on instead of the other earlier songs like honeybee, etc.”
One mused, “Omg hearing it without the ending makes you realize how much it rlly haunts and changes the song.”
More added, “I’m going to be physically Ill,” and “okay great i’m crying now.”
