Brazilian football star Neymar was involved in a training-ground altercation with 18-year-old teammate Robinho Jr. during a session at Santos FC, according to media reports.

The incident reportedly occurred when the 34-year-old forward expressed frustration over the youngster’s pace during drills. A verbal exchange between the two players escalated into a physical confrontation.

Reports suggest that Neymar slapped Robinho Jr. and tripped him, causing the teenager to fall. Following the clash, both players were asked to leave the training session.

Neymar later acknowledged his actions and issued an apology to the young player. The matter was subsequently resolved amicably between the two teammates.

Earlier, Iran’s national football team has been dealt a significant setback ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026, with key player Ali Gholizadeh ruled out due to a serious knee injury.

According to reports, the winger sustained the injury while representing Lech Poznań in a recent match. Medical examinations later confirmed a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of his left knee.

The club has announced that Gholizadeh will undergo surgery soon, followed by several months of rehabilitation, effectively ending his chances of participating in the World Cup.

This development is a major loss for Iran, as Gholizadeh was considered a key component of the squad.
