Hyderabad court lifts injunction, allowing the controversial Bad Boy Billionaires: India episode to go live.

After years of anticipation and legal hurdles, Netflix’s controversial episode on Satyam Computers from its docuseries Bad Boy Billionaires: India is finally set to reach audiences.

The episode, which has remained unavailable due to a prolonged court battle, has now cleared a major legal barrier, allowing viewers worldwide to see the long-delayed chapter.

Bad Boy Billionaires: India explores the rise and fall of some of India’s most high-profile businessmen. The final episode delves into the Satyam Computer Services scandal, one of the nation’s largest corporate frauds, revealing how a leading IT firm collapsed under massive financial deception.

The release of the episode had been blocked since 2020 when B. Ramalinga Raju, Satyam’s founder, filed a civil suit, claiming the documentary could affect his legal rights and reputation while his appeal against a seven-year jail sentence was pending. The court had imposed an interim injunction, keeping the episode off screens.

After the success of IT company Satyam Computer Services, Ramalinga Raju’s math didn’t seem to be adding up.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the Hyderabad City Civil Court vacated the injunction, accepting Netflix’s position that the episode relied on public records and documented facts of historical significance.

With the restriction lifted, Netflix has released “Riding the Tiger”, the fourth and final episode, completing the first season of Bad Boy Billionaires: India.

The release marks the end of a long legal saga and reignites public interest in one of India’s most infamous corporate scandals.
