Lahore: In a decisive and landmark session the 82nd Board of Governors meeting of the Pakistan Cricket Board led by Chairman Mohsin Naqvi set the stage for a new era in Pakistan cricket.

With bold policy approvals, strategic international collaborations, and sweeping domestic reforms, the Board signaled its unwavering commitment to transforming the country’s cricketing infrastructure, enhancing competitive excellence, and elevating the Pakistan Super League into a global powerhouse.

Under the leadership of Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, the Board formally approved the annual audited financial statements for FY 2024-25, demonstrating transparency and fiscal accountability.

Additionally, the Board ratified PCB’s procedural rules in line with the ICC Global Anti-Corruption Code, reinforcing its stance on integrity and fair play.

In a bold international move the Board approved an Expression of Interest (EOI) for collaboration with the Saudi Cricket Federation to develop a state-of-the-art cricket stadium in Jeddah, signaling Pakistan’s expanding influence in global cricket infrastructure.

Domestically, the Board undertook a comprehensive zonal reorganization of Lahore, revising boundaries and names to optimize talent development and grassroots cricket programs.

Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and the Board also honored Abdullah Khurram Niazi for his relentless efforts in advancing domestic cricket over the past two years, recognizing his tireless commitment and exemplary leadership.

Highlighting the explosive growth of the PSL, the Board expressed gratitude for the record-breaking team auctions for PSL 11, noting that the league has emerged as one of the best markets for sports investment. “Insha’Allah, the day is not far when PSL becomes the world’s number one cricket league,” declared Mohsin Naqvi.

The high-level session witnessed the participation of key Board members including Anwar Ahmed Ghani, Tariq Sarwar, Adnan Malik, Sajjad Khokhar, Zafarullah, and Ismail Qureshi.

Additional participation included Zaheer Abbas and the Secretary Cabinet via online connection, alongside top PCB executives including the CEO of PSL, COO of PCB, CFO, Director Media, Director Domestic Cricket, and Director Commercial.

This dynamic meeting not only highlighted PCB’s strategic vision for cricket growth but also reinforced its determination to position Pakistan as a global cricketing powerhouse, both on and off the field.
