Minnie Driver is counting her blessings after surviving a near-fatal car crash.

On Thursday, August 6, the Good Will Hunting alum revealed that she got into a “really bad car accident” a few days earlier when she and her friend, Ben, were driving on a country road in France. In an Instagram video shared from her bed, the 46-year-old actress explained that a speeding vehicle failed to stop at an intersection and T-boned their car.

“We somehow walked out if … Well we didn’t walk out of it, we crawled out of it, but we did get out of it alive,” she recalled in a strained voice, stressing that the collision was “not our fault.”

Driver revealed she suffered a sprained neck and has been left “in shock” and “crying all the time,” though she reassured fans that she is “fine.”

“The reason why I’m not dead is the car that we were driving. I’ve never been a crash before, but the 360-degree airbags are what saved our lives,” she added.

In the post’s caption, the Emily in Paris star thanked a van driver who stopped to help before emergency services arrived. “I am so grateful to be alive. Thanks very much from me and my mate. And my family and the people who love me,” she wrote.
