Man solves two Rubik’s cubes while skydiving to break world record

A 24-year-old Rubik’s Cube enthusiast has earned a Guinness World Record after solving two puzzle cubes while skydiving from an altitude of 13,000 feet during his very first skydive.

Ishaan Hadkar, who has been solving Rubik’s Cubes since the age of 10, attempted to break the record for the most rotating puzzle cubes solved during a single skydive above Oceanside.

His first attempt did not go as planned when one of the cubes broke apart during freefall, cutting the challenge short. Speaking about the experience, Hadkar said he had no idea what to expect from skydiving and was surprised by the unexpected malfunction. Refusing to give up, he quickly boarded another aircraft and decided to try again.

During his second jump, Hadkar successfully solved two Rubik’s Cubes before reaching the ground, securing the Guinness World Record title.

Despite having no previous skydiving experience, he described the challenge as extremely difficult due to strong winds, cloudy weather conditions, and freefall speeds of nearly 120 miles per hour. Although he used the same solving techniques he normally relies on, he had to hold the cubes much more tightly to prevent them from slipping away in the wind.

Hadkar completed the first cube while in freefall and solved the second after opening his parachute.

While thrilled to receive official recognition from Guinness World Records, he believes he could do even better in the future. He revealed that after landing, his first thought was that he might have been capable of solving as many as five cubes during a single jump. Still, he described earning the Guinness World Record as a proud and memorable achievement in his 14-year journey as a Rubik’s Cube solver.
