Such rumours gained traction after the two stars were recently seen spending time together and partying in Paris.
While neither has officially confirmed a collaboration, their recent connection has fans wondering whether new music could be behind it.
The speculation comes as Madonna continues her latest musical chapter with Confessions II, an album that brings her back to the dance-pop territory that has defined some of the biggest eras of her career.
The project features collaborations with several major artists and producers, including the Espresso hitmaker, Kylie Minogue, Stuart Price, Martin Garrix and Stromae.
Madonna’s collaboration with Carpenter, Bring Your Love, became one of the most talked-about moments of the new era.
