Left-hand batter Maaz Sadaqat has been ruled out of action for at least two weeks following an emergency laparoscopic appendectomy at a hospital in Lahore.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), he has also been ruled out of the ongoing ABS Developers National T20 Cup 2025-26 final at Gaddafi Stadium.
Maaz had joined Abbottabad as a replacement for Fakhar Zaman and trained with the team on Saturday night. However, on Sunday morning he experienced severe pain in the lower part of his abdomen and was taken to hospital for medical tests. After examination, doctors, in consultation with the PCB medical team, advised immediate surgery due to acute appendicitis.
The operation was completed successfully, and Maaz is currently in stable condition under the care of the PCB medical staff.
The left-handed opener, who recently represented Pakistan in the ODI series against Australia, was included among 27 players selected for a white-ball training camp at the National Cricket Academy starting on 15 June. He will join the camp after recovering and receiving clearance from the PCB Medical Panel.
