SEOUL: K-pop girl group “KATSEYE” achieved a major milestone , as its latest single “Animal” entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at No. 24, marking another breakthrough for the rising global music group.

The energetic track gained attention for its catchy chorus and powerful message about following natural instincts.

“Animal” is part of KATSEYE’s upcoming third EP, “Wild,” which is scheduled for release on Aug. 14. The song features an upbeat sound and lyrics focused on confidence, freedom and embracing one’s inner strength.

The group’s latest achievement adds to KATSEYE’s growing presence in the international music scene. The group, formed through a global collaboration project under HYBE, has continued expanding its fan base with a mix of K-pop performance style and global pop influences.

KATSEYE’s collaboration track “Iconic By Mistake,” featuring HYBE’s fellow girl groups LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT, also remained on the Billboard Hot 100. The song dropped two spots to No. 76 but extended its chart presence to seven consecutive weeks.

Other major K-pop artists also maintained strong positions on the latest Billboard rankings. BLACKPINK member Jennie held her position at No. 6 on the Hot 100 with “Dracula,” a collaboration with Australian psychedelic pop group Tame Impala.

Meanwhile, global K-pop group BTS secured two entries on the chart. Their songs “Swim” and “Normal” ranked No. 82 and No. 89, respectively, continuing the group’s long running influence on international music charts.

The latest Billboard results highlight the continued global growth of Korean artists across different generations. While established acts such as BTS and BLACKPINK continue to dominate international charts, newer groups like KATSEYE are gaining recognition with fresh sounds and expanding worldwide audiences.

With “Animal” making a strong debut and more releases expected from K-pop artists, Korean music continues to strengthen its position in the global entertainment industry.
