Diplomatic activity has intensified as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad after adjusting his travel schedule amid ongoing important negotiations with the United States.

Araghchi reached Islamabad following a one-day visit to Muscat. He was received at the airport by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Iran’s ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam, and other senior officials. This marks his second visit to Pakistan within the past 48 hours.

According to sources, the Iranian foreign minister is expected to hold fresh meetings with Pakistan’s top leadership to discuss the current regional situation and bilateral relations in detail.

Sources added that Araghchi was originally scheduled to travel directly from Muscat to Moscow, but decided to return to Islamabad before heading to Russia, a move being seen as a significant diplomatic development.

It is worth noting that a day earlier, Araghchi held separate meetings in Islamabad with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Asim Munir before departing for Muscat.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had described the discussions as positive, saying both sides held detailed talks on regional developments, mutual cooperation, and strengthening bilateral ties. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region through continued diplomatic engagement.
