DUBAI: Two artificial intelligence-powered humanoid robots have been “married” in an unusual symbolic ceremony in the United Arab Emirates, drawing widespread attention on social media.

According to Emirati media, the humanoid robot “Bu Sunaida” was paired with another robot named “Moza” in a ceremony held on Aug. 1. The event quickly went viral after videos and photos were shared online.

Bu Sunaida, an Emirati-themed humanoid robot often seen wearing traditional local attire, was developed using the Unitree G1 humanoid robot platform for research purposes, according to its developers.

Sharing the wedding video on Instagram, Bu Sunaida posted, “Today I married the most beautiful robot, Moza,” expressing excitement over the symbolic ceremony.

The video shows Bu Sunaida dressed in traditional Emirati clothing performing a customary dance, while Moza appears in a traditional black abaya and headscarf, adding a cultural touch to the AI-themed event.
