    Heavy rain, thunderstorm hit parts of Karachi

    Heavy rain along with thunderstorms and strong winds hit different areas of Karachi.

    Heavy rain along with thunderstorms and strong winds hit different areas of Karachi on Wednesday.

    Rain was reported in many parts of the city, including Saddar, II Chundrigar Road, North Nazimabad, North Karachi, and Surjani Town. Showers with strong winds were also experienced in FB Area, Defence, Clifton, Railway Colony, Delhi Colony, Gulshan-e-Jamal, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, and nearby areas.

    As the storm started, electricity supply was suspended in several areas. Strong winds caused damage in different parts of the city, where tables and chairs at some hotels were blown away. Trees were also uprooted due to the strong storm.

    One tree fell on II Chundrigar Road, but fortunately no injuries were reported. Several other trees also fell in the Burns Road area.

    Heavy rain also affected Korangi, Landhi, Shah Faisal Colony, the Airport area, and Malir. In addition, strong downpours were recorded in Defence, Clifton, Qayoomabad, PECHS, and Bahadurabad, causing disruption to daily life across the city.
