The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have accepted an invitation to stay at a royal residence with their two children during their visit to the UK next month.
Prince Harry and Meghan, along with their son Archie (seven) and daughter Lilibet (five), will be guests of the King on a royal estate during their first family trip to Britain in four years.
The exact royal residence they will stay in has not been shared publicly.
They will spend several days in the UK and will also stay in private accommodation during their visit.
Prince Harry is travelling to the UK to begin the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games for injured military personnel, which will take place in Birmingham next July.
He is also expected to visit UK charities he continues to support since moving to California.
In past visits, Harry has refused to stay at Buckingham Palace because of concerns about how visible and high-profile it is.
Last year, he lost a legal case over his request for police protection while visiting the UK.
After the decision, Harry told that he wanted “reconciliation” with the Royal Family and said he did not feel it was safe to bring his wife and children back.
He said he loves his country but is unsure about returning with his family because of safety concerns.
Security arrangements for the upcoming visit have not been confirmed, and no extra protection has been offered by Buckingham Palace. Any additional security decisions will be made by the Home Office.
The King last saw his grandchildren in person during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
In September last year, Harry met his father at Clarence House for tea, their first face-to-face meeting since February 2024.
Neither Buckingham Palace nor the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have commented on whether a family meeting will take place, calling it a private matter.
