KARACHI: protests and outrage continue worldwide against India’s mistreatment of Muslims, particularly after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar forcibly removed the veil of a Muslim woman doctor during a public event.

Across Pakistan, citizens from various sectors staged protest marches and demonstrations condemning the act, holding banners and placards denouncing the humiliation of the Muslim doctor and expressing outrage at India’s growing religious intolerance.

Demonstrators raised slogans against India’s leadership and the country’s state-sponsored religious extremism.

Speakers at the protests called the Chief Minister’s actions “shameful” and urged the United Nations to take strict notice of India’s mistreatment of minorities.

They described the act as a violation of fundamental human rights and religious freedom and called on the international community to defend Muslim rights against such inhumane treatment.

Human rights organization Amnesty International India also condemned the incident, stating that forcibly removing a woman’s hijab or veil is a severe attack on her dignity, identity, and personal freedom.

The organization added that such acts not only violate women’s fundamental rights but also foster an environment of fear and insecurity in society.
