RAWALPINDI: Security Forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Razmak area of North Waziristan District on Saturday following reports of the presence of terrorists belonging to the Indian-sponsored group Fitna Al Khwarij.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), troops effectively engaged the militants, killing five terrorists.
A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the slain militants, who were reportedly involved in multiple terrorist activities targeting security forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians.
However, during the intense exchange of fire, Major Hafiz Ihsan Elahi, 34, a resident of Mianwali District, embraced martyrdom while leading his troops from the front. The officer fought bravely and made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
A sanitisation operation is underway in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists. The ISPR said the counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue with full determination to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
The sacrifices of Pakistan’s security personnel further strengthen the resolve of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies to protect the nation at all costs, the statement added.

Earlier, security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in Khuzdar District of Balochistan, on reported presence of terrorists belonging to Indian proxy, Fitna al Hindustan destroying two explosive laden vehicles along with four terrorists.
During the operation, movement of two explosives-laden vehicles configured as Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIEDs) along with terrorists were proactively intercepted.
After swift and prompt action by security forces, both vehicles were successfully destroyed alongwith neutralizing four Indian-sponsored terrorists operating them.
