Rosé, the powerhouse vocalist of global K-pop phenomenon BLACKPINK, has shattered boundaries, becoming the first K-pop artist ever to claim a Brit Award.

On Saturday, February 28, the 26-year-old singer dazzled at the 46th Brit Awards in Manchester, taking home International Song of the Year for her chart-topping collaboration with Bruno Mars, APT.

During her electrifying acceptance speech, Rosé paid heartfelt homage to her BLACKPINK sisters: “Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa, I love you endlessly. You inspire me every day.”

She also showered praise on Bruno Mars, describing him as “my ultimate mentor and dearest friend,” and expressed gratitude to Teddy, founder and chief producer of The Black Label, for his pivotal role in her meteoric rise.

APT., a pre-release single from Rosé’s debut studio album Rosie, became a global phenomenon after its October 2024 release, dominating streaming charts and earning critical acclaim for its infectious hooks and dynamic production.

Although K-pop acts like BTS and BLACKPINK had previously been nominated, none had secured a win until now. Rosé’s historic victory not only cements her legacy but also signals the genre’s ascension onto the global mainstream stage.

The milestone comes in tandem with BLACKPINK’s third mini-album, Deadline, released this Friday, and the group’s epic world tour, further solidifying their undeniable global clout in the music industry.

Rosé’s triumph at the Brits is more than an award it’s a cultural landmark, a celebration of K-pop’s unstoppable global wave, and a testament to her talent, charisma, and trailblazing influence.
