SpaceX access to large data centers, which may support advanced computing needs for companies like Google

Elon Musk SpaceX has reportedly signed a major deal to provide computing power to Google.

The agreement is worth around $30 billion and will allow Google to use SpaceX computing resources for about $920 million per month until June 2029. The deal comes as SpaceX prepares for a possible large initial public offering in corporate history. The company recently expanded its technology assets after acquiring xAI in February 2026.

This move gave SpaceX access to large data centers, which may support advanced computing needs for companies like Google. The agreement also shows how quickly the industry is changing.

In 2021, Google was actually providing services to SpaceX for its Star link internet project. Now, the roles have reversed, with SpaceX offering large scale computing power to Google.

Google will use around 110,000 GPUs and other computing parts across SpaceX data centers between October 2026 and June 2029. These systems are part of high capacity facilities in the United States with about 2GW total computing power. The contract also includes a condition that allows Google to end the deal if SpaceX fails to deliver the required GPU supply by September this year. Earlier, AI Company Anthropic also signed a similar deal for computing resources.

Google needs external computing power because AI systems require huge GPU capacity. Demand is growing faster than new infrastructure can be built, so companies are renting extra power from outside providers. SpaceX has also filed for an IPO and set a share price of $135. The company is aiming to raise $75 billion at a valuation of about $1.75 trillion.
