KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast light rain or drizzle in Karachi on Sunday, July 26 as monsoon currents continue to influence the city’s weather after overnight showers brought a welcome drop in temperatures.

Karachi is expected to remain mostly cloudy today, with a temperature of 33°C. The humidity level stands at 69%, while the chance of precipitation is 10%, light rain may occur in some parts of the city later in the day.

The overnight rainfall made the weather pleasant across several parts of the city, with light rain or drizzle likely to continue in isolated areas throughout the day.

Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah has told all district administrations to finish their preparations for the monsoon season and remain on high alert ahead of the expected rainfall on Saturday.

He gave the instructions while leading a meeting to review the province’s monsoon preparedness, officials also discussed the issue of illegal wheat hoarding in different parts of Sindh.

The chief secretary directed the PDMA and all district control rooms to remain fully operational. He also instructed officials to send a situation report every 24 hours.

The pleasant cloudy weather and possible light monsoon showers may give Karachi residents a great opportunity to enjoy the weekend with family and friends. However, people are advised to remain cautious during any rainfall by avoiding exposed electrical wires, utility poles and flooded streets to help protect themselves and their loved ones.
