    Two pilots martyred in PAF training aircraft crash

    MARDAN: A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) trainer aircraft crashed during a routine training sortie near Mardan on Monday, resulting in the martyrdom of two pilots, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

    ISPR said the martyred officers were Flight Lieutenant Muhammad Qasim Abdullah (Pakistan Air Force) and Lieutenant Taha Abbasi (Pakistan Navy), who lost their lives while performing operational training duties.

    A board of inquiry has been constituted by Air Headquarters to determine the cause of the accident.

    Following the incident, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, along with the Services Chiefs, expressed deep grief over the tragic loss of precious lives. They extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyred officers and prayed for their strength and patience.

    Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also expressed profound sorrow over the crash, paying tribute to the two pilots for their sacrifice in the line of duty. He said their martyrdom reflects courage, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to the nation.

    “The nation salutes the bravery and commitment of Captain Qasim and Captain Talha,” the minister said, adding that their sacrifice will always be remembered with pride and respect.

    He extended condolences to the bereaved families and assured them that the entire nation stands in solidarity with them during this difficult time.

    The Interior Minister also prayed for the swift recovery of three individuals injured in the crash, expressing hope for their early and complete recovery.

    The tragic incident has cast a shadow of mourning across the country, with tributes continuing to pour in for the martyred pilots, whose service and sacrifice remain a lasting symbol of dedication to duty and national defence.
