Dubai Police have warned people to stay alert against scammers who are offering fake work visas. According to the Anti-Fraud Centre at the General Department of Criminal Investigation, these scammers attract victims by making false promises of jobs and visa sponsorship that have no legal approval.

As part of the ongoing #BewareOfFraud campaign, Dubai Police emphasized that visas should only be obtained through official government channels or properly licensed recruitment agencies. They advised the public not to trust individuals or agents who claim they can arrange work visas outside the legal process.

Dubai Police also urged people to report any suspected scams immediately. Complaints can be submitted through the Dubai Police smart app, by calling 901, or through the eCrime platform, which is specifically used to report cybercrime.

To work legally in the UAE, foreign nationals must have a Dubai employment visa. This visa is usually sponsored by an employer, who is responsible for handling most of the application steps. The process involves securing a work permit from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization, along with a residence visa.

Work visas are generally issued for one or two years and can be renewed. Applicants must have a confirmed job offer, pass a medical fitness test, and obtain an Emirates ID in order to legally live and work in the UAE.
