The 10 most common cancer types in the United States, based on estimated new cases for 2025, are primarily breast, prostate, and lung cancers.

Below are details for the most prevalent cancers, excluding non-melanoma skin cancers, which are the most common overall but often excluded from these lists due to their high incidence and generally high cure rate.

- Breast Cancer: This is the most frequently diagnosed cancer site overall when combining both sexes, and the leading cancer for women.

- Prostate Cancer: The most common cancer for men, prostate cancer has a high five-year relative survival rate of nearly 98%.

- Lung and Bronchus Cancer: While the third most common in incidence, it is the leading cause of cancer death for both men and women. Risk is heavily linked to tobacco use.

- Colon and Rectal Cancer (Colorectal): This cancer affects both men and women and is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Early detection through screening is very effective.

- Melanoma of the Skin: This is a serious form of skin cancer, and while its incidence is high, the survival rate is generally good if detected early.

- Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma: This type of cancer originates in the lymphatic system and varies in aggressiveness.

- Kidney (Renal Cell and Renal Pelvis) Cancer: Risk factors include smoking and being overweight.

- Endometrial Cancer: This is a cancer of the uterus and is one of the most common cancers in women.

-Bladder Cancer: Smoking and arsenic in drinking water are risk factors for this cancer, which occurs more often in men than women.

- Leukemia (All Types): Leukemia is a group of blood cancers, which are generally more common in adults than children (though they are the most common childhood cancers).
