Almost 30 years after The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air aired its finale, Will Smith, now 57, made a highly anticipated return in the finale of Peacock’s Bel-Air, which premiered on Monday, December 8.

The show, a modern and dramatic reimagining of the iconic ’90s sitcom, stars Jabari Banks as a contemporary Will navigating life after moving across the country with his family.

Will Smith, who also served as executive producer, appeared as a mysterious character known only as “OG.” In the finale, he provides guidance to Will, who is hesitant about returning to Philadelphia for college after building a new life in California.

The scene marked a nostalgic and emotional moment for fans, seven years in the making.

Bel-Air creator Morgan Cooper said, “Seeing Jabari and Will together was a full-circle moment. It took seven years for this to come to life.”

He added, “It takes me back to 2019, when I first met Will in Miami while developing the show. Being there, calling action for my hero, was an unforgettable experience. I am immensely proud of the work the team delivered.”
