Brian Austin Green opened up about his divorce from ex-wife Megan Fox four years after separation.
In a recent chat on a May 5 episode of the Oldish podcast, the Desperate Housewives alum candidly revealed that he was “devasted” after Megan brought up the topic of divorce “out of nowhere”.
“I was devastated,” Brian confessed. “It killed me, it was out of nowhere.”
Recalling the time when the Jennifer’s Body star and Brian overcame a rough patch during their marriage in 2015 before the birth of their youngest child.
Brian said, “I honestly felt at that point like, ‘We got this,’ We had already been through almost 15 years of a relationship together so I believed it and I think she believed it at the time also.”
However, Brian noted that he soon realized Megan, who was 18 at the time she started dating him, must have become overwhelmed as she started her family early.
“It became overwhelming for her,” the actor remembered.
But the “hard” part for Brian was that Megan, who recently welcomed a daughter with ex-fiance Machine Gun Kelly, hurried to end the marriage after realizing things she had “missed out” in life because of her early marriage to Brian.
“I think when she realized that, she wanted out quickly, which is then what made it hard for me. I understood it, but it didn’t make it any less hard. I get it, I understand—it feels like s–t,” he added.
It is pertinent to mention that the former couple who tied the knot in 2010, welcomed kids Noah, 12, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, 8 during their 11 years of marriage and finalized their divorce in 2021.
