Phoebe Bridgers opened up about some of the most personal parts of her life on her new album Lost Weekend.
The singer will release the album on August 14 as it is her first solo record since Punisher came out in 2020, making her return especially exciting for fans.
This time, Bridgers looks closely at grief, love and family. Her late father is an important part of the album, with some songs looking back at memories from her childhood and the difficult feelings that came with his death.
The record, however, does not stay sad all the way through. Bridgers also writes about love and finding happiness after going through painful times.
Songs such as Bobby and Liberty Tree are maybe about her relationship with Bo Burnham.
There is also humour in the album as Bridgers uses her usual dry style to talk about serious memories without making every moment feel heavy.
The music brings together producers and artists including Jack Antonoff, Tony Berg and Ethan Gruska. Nickel Creek also appear on Haunted.
The title song looks back at an engagement, which got abandoned, and what came after it.
By the end, the album returns to grief, love and acceptance.
