    NAB Karachi distributes Rs136 million in recovered funds

    Karachi: NAB Karachi is performing its functions with utmost enthusiasm and has been securing convictions against the corrupt elements and corrupt practices for the good of public functionaries, business community and general public.

    In this connection, a Cheque Distribution Ceremony was held at NAB (Karachi) on 30 July 2026, wherein, Mr. Shakeel Ahmed Durrani, PSP, DG NAB (Karachi) distributed cheques amounting to Rs. 136.293 Million amongst various state functionaries including Govt. of Sindh, National Highway Authority (NHA) and remaining affectees of Gulshan-e-Roomi.

    Cheque of an amounting of Rs. 122.853 Million was handed over to the representative of the office of Chief Secretary, Govt. of Sindh. The recoveries were made in Ref No 12/2017/H, State Vs Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh, Ex-Additional District Accounts Officer, Hyderabad، Ref No. 02/2021/H State vs Munawar Ali Bozdar and Ref No. 01/2023 State Vs Adnan Rasheed Qureshi, Ex-DC Matiari.

    In Ref No 12/2017/H, State Vs Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh, Ex-Additional District Accounts Officer, Hyderabad, accused Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh in connivance with others committed the offence of money laundering as defined U/s 3 of AMLA-2010. The accused involved in accumulation of assets beyond his means.

    In other Ref No. 02/2021/H State vs Munawar Ali Bozdar, the accused Munawar Ali Bozdar allegedly involved in misuse of authority and committed crime of embezzlement / misappropriation of funds. In another Ref No. 01/2023 State Vs Adnan Rasheed Qureshi, Ex-DC Matiari, the accused Adnan Rasheed allegedly involved in offence of corruption and corrupt practices.

    The accused misused his authority and embezzled Govt funds and committed crime of Money Laundering in connivance with the officers / officials of Sindh Bank.

    Another recovery Cheques of amounting to Rs. 13.440 Million were also handed over to 2x affectees in Investigation against management of M/s Humair Associate Karachi and Others regarding Gulshan-e-Roomi Housing Project. Earlier NAB (K) has handed over cheques to 84x affectees amounting to Rs. 230.764 Million in the same investigation.

    In the end, Mr. Shakeel Ahmed Durrani, PSP, DG NAB (Karachi) thanked the participants and reiterated that NAB (Karachi), under the leadership of worthy Lt. Gen (Retd) Nazir Ahmed Butt is committed to recover looted money from corrupt elements and to return amongst the affectees.

    He reaffirmed NAB’s commitment against corruption and corrupt practices and said that NAB (Karachi) is performing its responsibilities on merit with utmost dedication and professionalism for a prosperous and corruption free Pakistan.
