Islamabad: In a pivotal move set to supercharge Pakistan’s economic future, World Bank President Ajay Banga has arrived in the capital for a high-stakes mission.

With crucial meetings scheduled with top government officials, Banga’s visit marks a decisive moment for financial reforms, development projects, and multi-billion-dollar international partnerships.

During his stay until February 4, Banga will meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, and senior energy and economic officials.

Sources say the agenda will focus on accelerating economic reforms and tackling pressing challenges, including the ongoing water dispute with India.

Officials confirmed that Banga will be briefed on Pakistan’s strategic reform and development priorities, as the country advances its 10-year Country Partnership Framework with the World Bank, under which Pakistan is projected to receive $20 billion by 2035, a move that could redefine the nation’s growth trajectory.
