White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has shared heartwarming news of the arrival of her second child, a baby girl named Viviana, bringing a joyful new chapter to her growing family.
The announcement comes just days after she postponed her maternity leave amid heightened security concerns surrounding President Donald Trump.
In a deeply personal post on X, the 28-year-old the youngest White House Press Secretary in history announced the arrival with affection, writing: “On May 1st, Viviana aka ‘Vivi’ joined our family, and our hearts instantly exploded with love.”
Leavitt described her newborn daughter as “perfect and healthy,” adding that her elder son is happily embracing his new role as a big brother. “We are soaking in every precious moment in our blissful newborn bubble,” she shared.
She also posted a tender photograph from a softly lit nursery, cradling her newborn daughter close to her chest a moment that reflected warmth, intimacy, and new beginnings.
Although Leavitt had initially planned to begin her maternity leave on April 24 her schedule was briefly delayed. Her final appearance in the White House briefing room came on April 28, following a tense security incident involving an attempted breach at the White House correspondents’ dinner.
This marks another emotionally significant chapter in her journey, as she previously returned to work shortly after the birth of her son Nicholas in 2024, following a separate security scare involving an assassination attempt on then-presidential candidate Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Expressing gratitude, Leavitt thanked those who sent prayers and kind wishes throughout her pregnancy, saying she felt deeply supported. She added with faith and warmth, “God is good.”
The White House has not yet named a permanent replacement during her maternity leave, though Secretary of State Marco Rubio stepped in temporarily and received positive feedback for his calm and confident presence at the briefing podium.
