US to ease traffic congestion in the Strait of Hormuz, says President Trump

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump announced that the United States will take proactive measures to alleviate the mounting traffic congestion in the Strait of Hormuz, following a landmark two-week ceasefire agreement between Washington and Tehran.

The historic truce was finalized mere minutes before Trump’s Wednesday ultimatum for military action against Iran was set to expire. Tehran subsequently confirmed that secure and regulated passage through the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz a key artery for global oil shipments would be allowed.

Weeks of near-total disruption had fueled volatility in crude oil markets, driving prices upward across the globe.

Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform: “The United States will be actively assisting with the traffic backlog in the Strait of Hormuz. There will be substantial constructive measures! Massive financial gains are anticipated. Iran can initiate its reconstruction process immediately.”

BREAKING: President Trump says the US will be “helping with the traffic buildup” in the Strait of Hormuz, Iran can “start reconstruction,” and the US will be “loading up with supplies and just ‘hanging around’ in order to make sure everything goes well.”

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized that safe navigation would proceed “in strict coordination with Iran’s Armed Forces and within technical operational limits.”

Trump added that the United States would remain strategically positioned with extensive supplies to ensure smooth operations, expressing full confidence in the arrangement. The statement represents a stark departure from his earlier threats to “reduce Iran back to the Stone Ages,” signaling a pivot toward measured, high-stakes diplomacy.

“Just as we are witnessing progress in the United States, this could mark the dawn of a Golden Age for the Middle East,” Trump declared, highlighting the transformative potential of the ceasefire.

Trump hails the agreement as a decisive triumph

When questioned about claiming victory, Trump described the ceasefire as a “total and unequivocal triumph100 percent, beyond dispute.” He later proclaimed on Truth Social:
“A monumental day for global peace, Iran is ready for this accord they’ve endured enough, as has the international community.”

Trump explained that progress between the parties was propelled by Iran’s 10-point proposal, which he described as a pragmatic and actionable foundation for formalizing a lasting settlement within the two-week window.

He further revealed that a comprehensive 15-point framework has been developed, with the majority of elements already ratified, leaving only a handful of intricate details to be resolved through ongoing diplomatic engagement.
