ISLAMABAD: The Federal Constitutional Court expanded its bench on Monday as two newly appointed judges took their oath of office, bringing total to seven.
The oath-taking ceremony was held in the conference room of the Islamabad High Court, where Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court, Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, administered the oath to the newly appointed judges.
Justice Rozi Khan and Justice Arshad Hussain Shah were sworn in as judges of the Federal Constitutional Court.
It is worth noting that Justice Ali Baqar Najafi and Justice K. K. Agha had already taken oath as judges of the court.
With the induction of the two new judges, the total number of judges in the Federal Constitutional Court has now risen to seven, including Chief Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan.
Earlier, Federal Constitutional Court formally commenced its operations on Friday after its first Chief Justice, Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, was sworn in during a ceremony at the Presidency.
Later the same day, the Chief Justice administered the oath to three judges — Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Aamer Farooq, and Justice Ali Baqar Najafi — at the Islamabad High Court, inducting them as judges of the Federal Constitutional Court.
On Saturday, Justice K. K. Agha also took oath as a judge of the Federal Constitutional Court, further expanding the court’s judicial lineup.
