Iran would never be allowed to build naval warships, says Trump

Washington: Donald Trump has claimed that the United States has taken historic steps to protect its allies and is close to eliminating threats in the Middle East.

Addressing a ceremony, the US president said Washington has ended what he called Iran’s “nuclear blackmail” and is actively neutralizing the threat posed by the Iranian regime. He alleged that Iran had been destabilizing the Middle East for the past 47 years, but is no longer in a position to do so.

Trump stated that Iran would never be allowed to build naval warships and warned that if the nuclear deal had not been terminated, Tehran would have possessed nuclear weapons by now, potentially using them against Israel.

The US president further accused Iran of launching missile attacks on the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar. He claimed that the US military has significantly damaged Iran’s military capabilities through powerful strikes.

He added that Iran has now shown willingness to negotiate following intense pressure, expressing hope that talks will yield results soon. However, he stressed that the Strait of Hormuz must remain open. In a lighter remark, Trump referred to it as the “Strait of Trump.”

Trump also mentioned uncertainty regarding Iran’s leadership, suggesting that a new supreme leader is either dead or in poor condition.

During his speech, he said he does not care about not receiving a Nobel Prize, while claiming he helped stop eight wars, including between Pakistan and India.

He praised Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, calling him a “great personality” and acknowledging his role in promoting regional peace.
